The artworks of Ganna Ki explore themes of healing and the (sub)conscious. Through painting, sculpture, and performance, the artist seeks non-figurative expressions of deeper truths, a collective epistemology that connects all people.

In her current series “Serpent of Eternity,” created during an artist residency in the Black Forest, Ganna Ki investigates the concept of creation. The green landscape, mountains, and dense forests inspired her to create small sculptures and large canvases. The title refers to the Aztec serpent god Quetzalcoatl (known as Kukulkan among the Maya), who, in traditional history, created the world. In this series, the artist tells the story of a girl who travels into an ancient ocean world in a lucid dream. Here, she meets the feathered serpent and hears stories from Quetzalcoatl about a world that does not yet exist. Her paintings and sculptures in this series are dedicated to this ancient ocean world.

In 2023, during artist residencies in the Czech Republic and Poland, she developed two performances based on the Ukrainian folklore figure Beregynya, a protective spirit associated with river and forest spirits. In these dance performances, Ganna Ki erected Beregynya sculptures made from local, natural materials and set them ablaze while reciting mantras, transforming them into prayers for the healing and protection of nature.
