Galerie Anna Probst – Contemporary Art is Our Passion.
Our aim is to make contemporary art accessible and visible. We want to invite people to discover art without inhibition and to develop their own connection to it. Because art is always something deeply personal – and precisely for this reason, it requires a place that provides orientation, transparency, and trust.
Making Art Accessible. Galerie Anna Probst sees itself not only as an exhibition space but also as a reliable companion. Our artists present their works within a framework that facilitates encounters between art, space, and people. Likewise, we guide our clients openly, clearly, and encouragingly – with well-founded advice, understandable explanations, and the presentation of suitable options, always without persuasion. Dialogue, quality, and openness shape our approach and define every encounter, be it in personal conversation, during a studio visit, or when selecting art for private or professional spaces.
Art as Encounter and Guidance. Our goal is to make art accessible to people and to make decisions comprehensible. We understand art in the long term – as something that provides security, brings joy, and is allowed to unfold further over time. Art should not only please but also touch, move, and create resonance. It tells stories, shapes spaces, and accompanies people for years. For us, art is not just a harmonious experience, but also an impulse for friction and engagement. It is allowed to irritate, challenge, and open new ways of thinking. It is precisely from this tension that its deepest impact often arises. We show art that raises questions, challenges one’s own perspectives, and encourages rethinking perspectives.
A Space with Atmosphere. The gallery at Uhlandstraße 145 is a place where art is not just viewed, but experienced. We create an atmosphere that allows for closeness and encourages engagement with what art can convey. The location is in the vibrant art district between Ludwigkirchplatz and Fasanenplatz – an environment that fosters creativity, exchange, and inspiration, and perfectly suits our orientation. We deliberately stage our exhibitions atmospherically, sometimes with candlelight, to make art’s full impact tangible.
Artists with Conviction and Craftsmanship. We represent contemporary positions that address current issues of our time and impress with distinctive visual languages. Our artists work precisely, with high quality, and beyond short-term trends. For us, art is never mere decoration – it creates resonance, opens dialogues, and leaves its mark. Our aspiration is to enable a personal connection between artists and collectors and to make art visible as a mirror of our time.
Anna Probst – About Me
I am a gallerist because I love the combination of creativity and commercial thinking. My strength lies in curatorial clarity and compelling communication: I open doors for art by building bridges between artists, the market, and the public – with a focus on both its material and immaterial value.
Zeitgeist meets intimacy. Art that touches. My gallery is a place where contemporary art becomes accessible and people find the courage to connect with it. I want to make art visible as a mirror of our time, as something that inspires, moves, and enriches. Therefore, I do not sell mainstream art, because art should always establish a personal connection between the artist and the art collector.
Contemporary Art with Conviction and Intimacy. I guide people in buying art, alleviating their apprehension and creating transparency. Through dialogue, fair structures, and high quality, I make artists with exceptional, creative ideas and excellent craftsmanship visible. In doing so, I facilitate encounters that build trust – between art, artist, and buyer.
A New Name Reflecting Our Approach. Connected with the relocation and rebranding is also an important innovation: The former Galerie Probst will henceforth bear the name Galerie Anna Probst. This decision consciously underlines my personal approach and curatorial signature. The new name stands for clear positioning, authenticity, and a closer connection between artistic vision, personal commitment, and the gallery’s program. With this, I want to make visible that behind our selection of artists, works, and themes lies an individual perspective – an attitude that understands art not as a decorative object, but as something that moves, inspires, and enriches.
